Dee in Hosanna

Dee is now in her sixth year of serving as a missionary educator in Ethiopia. She worked to set up a kindergarten for 200+ students near Butajira, Ethiopia. When the teachers were competent in managing their own school she went to Hosanna, Ethiopia. Now, her focus is on training teachers to become trainers of other teachers. The lab school is the Kindergarten of the Hosanna Kale Heywet Church. Dee is also working with Hanna's Orphans to set up an orphanage which opened there in July of 2009.

Easter Blessings

HAPPY EASTER!
This beautiful Saturday Morning in Hosanna, Ethiopia is filled with Easter Praise.
I suppose I am the only one here thinking about Easter because the Ethiopian Easter is in late April. However, joy fills my heart because it is my favorite holiday.

The words to a song which was often sung in church when I was a child came to me this morning:

I SERVE A RISEN SAVIOR, HE'S IN THE WORLD TODAY.
I KNOW THAT HE IS LIVING NO MATTER WHAT MEN MAY SAY.
I SEE HIS HAND OF MERCY, I HEAR HIS VOICE OF CHEER,
AND JUST WHEN I MIGHT NEED HIM, HE'S ALWAYS NEAR.

HE LIVES, HE LIVES, CHRIST JESUS LIVES TODAY!
HE WALKS WITH ME AND TALKS WITH ME ALONG LIFE'S NARROW WAY.
HE LIVES, HE LIVES, SALVATION TO IMPART.
YOU ASK ME HOW I KNOW HE LIVES---HE LIVES WITHIN MY HEART!

There is a great celebration of the risen Savior in Hosanna!
It's going on in my heart.

I got a call from a friend in Yetebon. Nurse Asada and her sister are coming to Hosanna on the bus to visit. It will be a blessing to have another woman here who knows English well enough to have conversation.

May each of you have a wonderful and meaningful Easter!

God bless,
Dee

They all come to learn English

This little one is blessed! He will be raised with the opportunity of an education. Yes, there are thousands of children living in Ethiopia who will never be in school. Most families just have not gotten the message to limit the number of children per family.
There just aren't enough schools and teachers for all the children who beg to go to school.

Peace to all,
Dee Donalson

Teaching College Students

Teaching these college students, +42 others, is such fun. We have much work to do, as some of the students have been out of school and on the mission field for many years before returning to refresh their English skills and to study Bible and Church History, etc. We all laugh at our mistakes while I try to say their names and they try to explain their ideas in English.

We are looking for a person to come and catalogue our library books on a computer. Do you know of such a person?
Peace,
Dee
